Symbiome Youth Center merupakan rancangan pusat komunitas generasi muda yang
mengintegrasikan pendekatan arsitektur biomimikri wetland dan fitoremediasi sebagai respon
ekologis terhadap permasalahan lingkungan perkotaan, khususnya di kawasan Bojongsoang,
Bandung. Lokasi ini menghadapi tantangan serius seperti pencemaran air akibat IPAL, banjir
musiman, urban sprawl, dan berkurangnya ruang terbuka hijau. Dengan filosofi "Live, Grow, Heal
Together," desain bangunan meniru sistem kerja alami ekosistem rawa mulai dari bentuk massa
bangunan menyerupai batuan lunak, sistem pengelolaan air berbasis kolam fitoremediasi, fasad
berpori seperti insang, hingga ventilasi pasif menyerupai sarang rayap. Pendekatan biomimikri
diterapkan secara menyeluruh melalui sembilan parameter: bentuk, material, struktur, sistem,
energi, air, ventilasi, cahaya, dan adaptasi. Bangunan ini tidak hanya sebagai ruang aktivitas
kreatif, edukatif, dan healing bagi generasi Z dan millenial, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai organisme
arsitektural yang mampu menyaring air, merespons iklim, dan menyatu dengan alam sekitarnya.
Dengan skala tapak ±13.000 m², proyek ini menjadi model youth center berkelanjutan berbasis biodesain
dan regeneratif urbanism.

Symbiome Youth Center is a youth community center design that integrates wetland biomimicry and
phytoremediation architectural approaches as an ecological response to the urban environment,
particularly in the Bojongsoang area of Bandung. This location faces serious challenges such as air
pollution due to wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), seasonal flooding, urban sprawl, and
reduced green open space. With the philosophy of “Live, Grow, Heal Together,” the building design
mimics the natural workings of a swamp ecosystem, from the building mass resembling soft rock,
the phytoremediation pond-based air management system, the gill-like porous facade, to passive
ventilation resembling a termite nest. The biomimicry approach is applied comprehensively through
nine parameters: form, material, structure, system, energy, air, ventilation, light, and adaptation.
This building not only serves as a creative, educational, and healing activity space for generations
Z and millenial, but also functions as an architectural organism capable of filtering air, responding
to climate, and blending with its natural surroundings. With a site scale of ±13,000 m², this project
is a model for a sustainable youth center based on bio-design and regenerative urbanism.
