<note>terjadinya kemacetan lalu lintas terutama pada persimpangan di Kota Cimahi, salah satu persimpangan yang sering terjadi kemacetan adalah Jl. Sangkuriang – Jl. Kolonel Masturi. 
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kinerja persimpangan di Jl. Sangkuriang – Jl. Kolonel Masturi menggunakan metode MKJI 1997, sehingga dari hasil analisis tersebut dapat memberikan solusi yang diharapkan dapat mengurai kemacetan yang terjadi di persimpangan Jl. Sangkuriang – Jl. Kolonel Masturi. 
Berdasarkan hasil survei di lapangan dan hasil analisis kinerja simpang kondisi eksisting, dapat diketahui bahwa puncak jam sibuk terdapat pada pukul 06.30 – 07.30 dan 17.00 – 18.00, nilai DS yang didapat pada hasil analisis simpang tak bersinyal tidak memenuhi syarat (DS < 0,85) dengan nilai 1,299 pada pagi hari dan 1,323 pada sore hari, setelah dilakukan analisis dengan merubah geometrik jalan dan menggunakan lampu lalu lintas, nilai DS membaik dengan rata-rata nilai DS sebesar 0,83 dan 0,82 pada periode pagi dan sore hari, nilai tersebut telah memenuhi syarat (DS < 0,85)</note>
