<note>Jalan nasional terdiri atas jalan arteri primer, jalan kolektor primer (penghubung antar ibukota provinsi), jalan tol, dan jalan strategis nasional. Panjang jaringan jalan nasional di Provinsi Kalimantan Barat adalah sepanjang 2.027,98 km yang terdiri dari 52 ruas jalan antar kota. Jaringan jalan nasional ini berperan penting dalam menunjang percepatan pembangunan ekonomi, sosial maupun budaya.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan hasil kinerja ruas jalan nasional serta memberikan usulan penanganan guna meningkatkan kinerja ruas jalan bagi pengguna jalan. Metode perhitungan kinerja ruas jalan mengacu kepada Pedoman Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 2014 “Kapasitas Jalan Luar Kota”.
Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan dan analisis data pada 52 ruas jalan nasional yang diproyeksikan pada tahun rencana (tahun 2034), terdapat 12 ruas jalan nasional dengan arus lalu lintas tergolong “kritis” dengan DJ≥0,75 yang kemudian dilakukan beberapa usulan penanganan salah satunya penurunan hambatan samping, pelebaran bahu jalan, pelebaran jalan hingga pengubahan tipe jalan, sehingga DJ≤0,75 atau meningkatnya kecepatan tempuh dan waktu tempuh.</note>
