<note>Serat alam adalah jenis bahan yang berasal dari alam baik hewan maupun tumbuhan yang mudah didapatkan pemanfaatan serat alam telah diaplikasikan secara komersial di berbagai bidang seperti bidang otomotif dan konstruksi, dengan di campurkan PPHI menggunakan metode injection molding dan terbentuk pelet plastik, pelet pelastik.
Pelet dilakukan proses extruder dengan serat alam nanas untuk di komposit, sehingga di butuhkan mesin pembuat pelet komposit yaitu dimna menggabungkan dua material yang tidak Homogen dengan metode percampuran material menggunakan screw yang berada di dalam barrel dan di pnaskan oleh heater,screw tersebut mendorong pelet yang sudah tercampur dan meleleh menuju die kemudian didingan oleh air ,yang akan menuju ke Crusher untuk di cacah menjadi biji pelet komposit.
Dalam penelitian ini mesin extruder plastik dengan kapasitas 2,5 kg/jam komponen yang digunakn berupa Single screw, heater, die, crusher, barrel, hopper, dan time delay pada penelitian ini adalah 165º dan 180º dan putan screw konstan di 15 rpm menggunakan screw berdiameter 20 mm x 550 mm dan jarak pitch 1D dengan sudut kemiringan 23º.</note>
