STUDI KINETIKA DAN PERPINDAHAN MASSA ABSORPSI GAS C02 DENGAN LARUTAN KOH DALAM TANGKI BATCH BERPENGADUK
Gas absorption is an operation used in the chemical industries refers to the washing or dissolving of a mixture of gases by using a suitable solvent. One or more of the constituents of the gas will be dissolved or absorbed in liquid and separable. Research is done by emerging gas of C02 into KOH liquid pass through sparger residing in tank base. Variables studied by are temperature of KOH liquid
and speed of stirring rotation. The value of mass transfer coefficient (Kra) and rate of reaction constant (kr) obtained by searching the minimum value between concentration of KOH liquid as function of time from the result of research data with the result of mathematical model simulation. Simulation of computer program use the combination between Runge-Kutta order-4 method and Hooke-Jeeves multivariables optimation. The value of Kra is bigger when the speed of stirring rotation is faster, whereas if the temperature of liquid is higher, the obtained value of kr is greater relatives.
