PERANCANGAN PROTOTYPE ALAT PEMADAT SAMPAH BOTOL PLASTIK
Indonesia has a lot of middle class entrepreneurs collecting plastic bottles waste who have not been able to buy plastic bottled compactors. This is due to the hydraulic system being applied to existing compactor in the market that make the price soaring. As a result, plastic bottle waste is only compacted manually by manpower resulting in high mobilization costs. Plastic bottle waste is light but space consuming. With huge volume, the weight is light. The prototype design of this plastic bottle waste compactor is aimed to determine the specification of the appliance, obtain the motor power, and produce the prototype technical drawing. The design stage begins by identifying the needs and determining the targets and limitations of the problem. Then create some design concepts that produce compactor specification. Technical drawings are made after obtaining selected design concepts. The final step is to calculate the mechanism used to obtain the motor power. Waste compactor prototype design has compaction output of plastic cube with 40 x 40 x 40 cm dimension. Dimension of the tool at full stroke up is 1953 mm. While at the full stroke down is 1366 mm. The dimensions are 560 x 799.5 mm. This tool uses an electric motor with a power of 1.6 kW for 80% electric motor efficiency.
