<note>Pesisir utara Kabupaten Serang, Provinsi Banten merupakan salah satu pesisir yang mengalami abrasi cukup parah tepatnya di Tanjung Pontang. Di area tersebut juga terjadi kekeruhan air yang cukup tinggi akibat penambangan pasir laut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi hidrodinamika dan angkutan sedimen pada perairan Teluk Banten untuk mencari solusinya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mensimulasi kondisi hidrodinamika dan angkutan sedimen di perairan teluk Banten dengan bantuan perangkat lunak MIKE 21. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat area yang berpotensi mengalami abrasi dan sedimentasi akibat arus sejajar pantai yang dibangkitkan gelombang dengan kecepatan 0.02-0.18 m/s yang menyebabkan abrasi dan 0.02-0.08 m/s yang menyebabkan sedimentasi pada musim barat. Kekeruhan tinggi pada pesisir Tanjung Pontang tidak disebabkan oleh angkutan sedimen layang yang berasal dari sungai-sungai yang bermuara di teluk Banten, karena nilai konsentrasi sedimen hasil pemodelan sangat kecil yaitu sebesar 2.29x10-15-1.78x10-12 kg/m3 dibandingkan dengan dengan hasil pengukuran sebesar 2.83x10-10 kg/m3.</note>
