<note>Indonesia merupakan negara yang sering terjadi banjir, terlebih lagi banjir menghancurkan fasilitas penting seperti mobil dan motor. Salah satu alternatif dengan membuat floating concrete dari pelat beton sandwich menggunakan styrofoam sebagai lapisan inti agar beton bisa terapung di atas air dan tidak merusak fasilitas penting. Dalam penelitian ini pelat di modelkan di atas fondasi elastis. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kapasitas kuat lentur, berat jenis dan beton apung (floating concrete) pelat beton sandwich, Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan; berat jenis pelat beton sandwich dengan styrofoam sebagai lapisan inti dengan tebal 10 cm menghasilkan 714,3857 kg/m3 dan tebal 12 cm menghasilkan 656,35 kg/m3, tinggi tenggelam beton sandwich dengan styrofoam sebagai lapisan inti dengan tebal 10 cm menghasilkan 0,1 m dan tebal 12 cm menghasilkan 0.105 m. Berdasarkan syarat batasan beton ringan SNI 03-2847 2002 struktur pelat beton sandwich telah memenuhi persyaratan beton ringan.</note>
